Plot
The young Marquis Fabrizio Del Dongo returns to Parma after spending five years in Naples, in the seminary but Fabrizio finds the restricted environment of the Parma court suffocating and, to dispel boredom, he throws himself headlong into gallant adventures. When a betrayed husband is injured in a duel, he is arrested and sentenced to twenty years in prison. He sees Clelia, the Governor's daughter, and falls in love with her. With her help he manages to escape. However, the revolution is upon us and only by fleeing the city can the two lovers be saved.
Trama
Il giovane marchese Fabrizio Del Dongo ritorna a Parma dopo aver trascorso cinque anni a Napoli, in seminario ma Fabrizio trova soffocante l'ambiente ristretto della corte di Parma e, per scacciare la noia, si getta a capofitto nelle avventure galanti. Quando ferisce in duello un marito tradito viene arrestato e condannato a vent'anni di reclusione. Vede Clelia, la figlia del Governatore, e se ne innamora ricambiato. Con il suo aiuto riesce ad evadere. La rivoluzione è però alle porte e soltanto fuggendo dalla città i due amanti potranno salvarsi.
